shore diveWelcome to Pulau Weh! Steffen Sea Sports, located at Flamboyan Resort, Gapang Beach was established in early 2008. Close to all the dive sites the shop has 2 speed boats and the longest trip takes around 30mins to arrive at the dive site. With a team of 3 instructors speaking languages including English, and Japanese, we can accommodate any first time diver and with 0ver 15 dive sites, including Batee Tokong, Canyon, and Rubiah Sea Garden we can challenge any experienced diver.

For those interested in trying diving for the first time we offer the Discover Scuba Dive, taking approx 2 hours, the House reef gives you the ideal setting in shallow clear waters to discover a love for the underwater world and coral reefs.

If you know that diving is going to be for you the PADI Open Water Course is available, taking 3-4 days we offer a relaxing atmosphere in which to learn the skills you will need to dive in the open ocean. The course focuses on practical learning and independent study which provides flexibility to learn at your own pace, so we begin the course with the first open water dive on day 1.

To Banda Aceh

From Kuala Lumpur

Air Asia fly direct to Banda Aceh from Kuala Lumpur LCCT, flights start at RM 9.99 and go on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. THERE IS NO VISA ON ARRIVAL AT BANDA ACEH AIRPORT AT THIS TIME, please ensure you visit the indonesian embassy in KL in good time before the flight. The visa takes 24hours to organise.

From Singapore

There is no direct flight to Banda Aceh at this time, Silk Air fly to Medan, where Visa on arrival is granted and then you need to change to Lion Air or Garuda for the flight to Banda Aceh.

Alternatively you can take a bus to Banda Aceh which takes 10-14 hours and prices vary.

From Penang
There is a daily ferry to Medan where Visa on arrival is granted and then either fly with Lion Air or Garuda to Banda Aceh or take a bus from the northern bus station.

From Banda Aceh to Pulau Weh

Be advised most Achenese call Pulau Weh by the administrative name of Sabang. There is a fast ferry from the Jetty costing 60,000Rp which leaves at 9am and 4pm and takes approx. 45mins to arrive in Bahlohan jetty. Alternatively you can catch the car ferry which costs 15,000Rp and takes 2 1/2 hours, it leaves at 2pm.

From Balohan to Gapang

A taxi or minibus from the jetty costs approx. 50,000Rp per person, minimum charge is 150.000Rp for the vehicle so less then 3 persons should investigate taking a motorbike for 50,000Rp.

The journey takes from 1 to 1 and a 1/2 hours and the driver will stop at Flamboyan Resort if you ask otherwise you will be dropped at the beach only 50m further along.
